The future of jazz is in their hands. They are also the stars of Jazzology, heard Thursday nights at 9PM on JAZZ.FM91.

Since 2006, JAZZ.FM91 has presented Jazzology  - a unique and unprecedented program that stars selected jazz students from the University of Toronto, York University, Humber College, and Mohawk College.  Jazzology provides an opportunity for students to showcase their talents and accomplishments, and share their stories and love of music in a professional environment.  These talented jazz students choose the music and the artists they wish to talk about, as well as some recordings of their own.

It allows us to look at an individual’s passion for jazz in its purest form and explore the journey each of these students has embarked on. This week we feature guitarist Sean Traczyk from York University.

Sean Traczyk was born in Montreal, Quebec and moved to Markham, Ontario when he was 8 years old.

He began playing guitar at age 14 after gaining an interest in rock and blues music. An increasing love for the music of Bach, Barrios and Debussy led him to take up the classical guitar a couple years later. After beginning to develop an interest in Jazz, it was a trip to Chicago with his high school Jazz band that made him fall in love with this music.

Sean currently studies at York University and has had the pleasure of studying guitar with Lorne Lofsky, Brian Katz & Andrew Scott.
